Commercial flat mop systems are an essential choice for commercial cleaning companies looking for efficient and effective floor-cleaning solutions. While there are some situations where a properly maintained string mop is more effective, the flat mop system is essential in office and healthcare situations. The advantages over traditional mop systems include:

  • Increased Efficiency
  • Reduced risk of cross-contamination
  • Reduced water usage
  • Ergonomic design.

Increase Efficiency

Flat mops cover a wider area than traditional mops, allowing you to clean floors more quickly and thoroughly. The swivel head makes it easier to maneuver around furniture and in tight spaces.

Reduced Risk of Cross-contamination

Flat mops use microfiber pads that are more effective at trapping dirt, dust, and other debris. The microfiber pads are easily removable, changeable, and washable. As they are available in a variety of colors, color coding can be used to ensure certain pads are only used in certain areas.

Reduced Water Usage

Flat mops require less water than traditional mops, which can help to save water and reduce costs. The flat mop can be used effectively even when there is no mop sink readily available.

Ergonomic Design.

Flat mops are typically lighter and easier to use than traditional mops, which can help to reduce worker fatigue and injuries. They are available in various sizes and styles to meet the needs of different users.

When would you use a string mop system?

We do still use traditional string mops in certain situations and environments. If there is a large amount of liquid that needs to be picked up from the floor, a string mop is excellent for high absorbency. It also excels when you are dealing with a tile floor that has wide or deep grout lines. There are some things we do differently with this kind of system:

  • Regular machine washing and sanitizing of mop heads
  • Using different colors to better avoid cross-contamination

Conclusion

The commercial flat mop system is our first choice in nearly all cleaning situations. Its superior design, efficient use of water, ability to mitigate cross-contamination risk, and ease of use place it miles above the competition. We consider it critical to cleaning in corporate and healthcare environments.
